Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy complication that affects 5% to 8% of all pregnancies. It leading cause maternal mortality contributes annually more than 60,000 deaths over the world. Data submitted so far by clinicians are still insufficient completely understand disease. Despite many researches, prediction patients suffering from PE remains difficult. Moreover therapeutic methods also limited and concentrated on symptomatic treatment early termination pregnancy. The aim presented article review current research its long-term effects mother child. defined as hypertension developing after 20 weeks gestation with at least one following symptoms: proteinuria, organ dysfunction or foetal growth restriction. Because initially may be asymptomatic, diagnosis usually Untreated lead death both neonate. In later life it predisposes woman child cardiovascular metabolic diseases. Maternal consequences related increased risk hypertension, stroke, thrombosis chronic kidney disease, whilst offspring implications directly correlated body mass index, hormonal changes reductions in cognitive functions. future there need develop effective diagnostic PE. Comprehensive understanding pathophysiology would allow avoid negative reduce rate.
